20, 2008DEAR FLOOR HOCKEY PLAYERS AND PARENTS,
The WATTLES PARK MEN'S CLUB will be conducting their annual FLOOR HOCKEY program for players eligible for kindergarten in September 2009 through 8th Grade, beginning with practices starting the week of October 13. There will be two practices, each lasting one hour. The season runs from November 1 until December 2.
The Floor Hockey Program will be conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the Battle Creek Y-Center's Multi-Sports Complex. All players will play on Saturday and on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Everyone will play nine games.
Leagues will be as follows:
| GRADE LEVELS | LEAGUE NAME | TEAMS | PLAYERS |
| Pre K - K | Rookie Coed | 12 | 132 |
| 1st - 2nd | Frosh Boys | 12 | 132 |
| 1st - 2nd | Frosh Girls | 6 (4th yr. for league) | 66 |
| 3rd - 4th | Soph Boys | 10 | 110 |
| 3rd - 4th | Soph Girls | 6 (4th yr. for league) | 66 |
| 5th - 6th | Junior Coed | 10 | 110 |
| 7th - 8th | Senior Coed | 8 | 88 |
There is a $65 fee for all players. Each player/parent will receive 2 "WPMC Peel-It Cards" with their signup fee. These cards can be sold for $15 each (which makes your signup fee $35) or can be used by the family. The coupons and bargains on the cards are worth hundreds of dollars. The increase in fees this year are twofold: (1) to lease the Y-Center's Multi-Sports Complex for floor hockey, basketball and volleyball for the next two years and (2) a contribution to the WPMC Capital Campaign to build a community recreation complex, expected to be open in 2010-11.
Please make checks or money orders payable to "WPMC."
Parents, we are always in need of volunteers to serve as floor hockey coaches and assistants. This is the time in a young person's life that special guidance and teaching are essential. Won't you please volunteer to make a young person's life special? Please mark the check-off line when signing up to be a coach or an assistant.
All questions regarding the Floor Hockey Program should be directed to Gary Lincoln (979-4336).
We hope that your child will be able to participate this coming fall. If not, the WPMC also sponsors youth recreation programs in Basketball, Outdoor Soccer, Spring Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, T-Ball, Golf and Lacrosse.
Yours in Youth Sports,
