The WATTLES PARK MEN'S CLUB, in conjunction with OLIVET COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER COACH HANS MORGAN, will be offering a SOCCER CAMP for all boys and girls entering grades K through 12.The camp will be held from MONDAY, AUGUST 4 to FRIDAY, AUGUST 9 at the eleven Soccer Fields at the Wattles Park Elementary School. The camp will last from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. for students going into Grades 3 through 12 and from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. for students going into Grades K, 1 and 2. The cost of the camp will be $110 for Grades 3-12 and $55 for Grades K-2 (considerably less than what universities charge for youth sports camps). All campers will receive a camp T-Shirt and a soccer ball. Each camper will need to bring shin guards, water, and a sack lunch (hamburgers - $2.00; hot dogs - $1; chicken - $2; cheeseburgers - $2 and pizza - $1.50; Gatorade, water and soft drinks, will be sold at lunch). Bathrooms, drinking fountains, and a concession stand will be available throughout the camp.
Coach Morgan has designed the camp to emphasize each player's individual skills. The technical, tactical and functional aspects of the game will also be stressed. Assisting Coach Morgan will be team soccer players from both the Men's and Women's teams at Olivet College. There will also be training specifically for the Goalkeepers including technical and tactical sessions.
Last summer was one of our largest camps with over 110 boys and girls participating. We urge everyone to signup early.
For those parents that are working, a "child care" deduction can be used for the duration of the camp. Please check with your financial advisor or accountant.
